Well I finally finished!! I never thought it would happen. Of course it isn't completely done. Now is the point where I put it away for a couple days and not look at it. Then I will pull it out again and see if I want to make any changes or get darker or lighter in any areas. Then I will Sign it and call it done.
I also need to name it. I have never really named a piece of art before. Everyone always has cool names for their art. If I'm going to take myself seriously as an artist I think I need to name them. If anyone wants to throw some cool names my way please feel free.
I have been reading a lot of blogs on line and I came across a few that have helped me focus on getting serious about my art and I really think it has changed me in a lot of ways. I feel I've reached a new level and I have more clear direction. I want to thank Marsha Robinett for her generous gift of information and insight with a link to her blog.

Marsha pointed me in the direction of another great blog, which I have just started reading. Tons of great information, and very funny I might add. A big thanks to you also Maggie.

I can't say enough about how much I have learned from reading these. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm headed in the right direction and I'm having so much fun.... Till next time!!

Jennie,
Thank you for the kind words. You are a wonderfully talented pencil artist and I believe you are destined for great things.
As for a suggested name for your new finished piece...I see a young woman very proud of her ancestral heritage.
I wish you the very best.
Hey Jennie,
Thanks for leaving your comment on my blog. It is always nice to read a note from someone who has been following my random thoughts!
This is quite a wonderful work of yours. I especially am 'drawn' to the compositional aspect of the work, with the strong position of the subject and the way in which you have taken her and made her quite appealing as a work of art. You seem to have a very good grasp of the medium and I will be anxious to see more of your graphite work in the future.
Keep up the very fine work!
... Terry
I want to say thank you for the comments. Coming from those I admire so much it really means a lot to me.
I feel a little funny answering some comments..... It sort of feels like sending a thank you card, for a thank you card. But I just couldn't help it....
Thank you, for the thank you and the kind and inspiring words that followed!!
Jennie
