Whisper

This is one of my latest drawings. I had done a commission for a friend, and this one was a little extra surprise for her. I knew I had to draw a close up of this horse, he is beautiful. I gave the drawings to her today, so it is safe to post.

on another note - I've been doing a little experimenting with powdered graphite and water washes. Just playing but I like the effect I'm getting. If I actually finish one I will post it.

Hi Jennie, I think you do beautiful work. I have a hard time with pencil and you make it look so easy.

Hi Jennie, thanks so much for following my blog. I'm so glad you are because now I've found yours! WOW, your work is beautiful!!! I LOVE the Pow Wow photos you took, what kind of camera and lens? They are fabulous! Love the colors and movement, I wish I could have been there. I've visited the Southwest a couple times and instantly fell in love with its beauty and culture.

This latest horse drawing is lovely, such a sweet face! The powdered graphite and water sounds interesting, I hope you post pictures.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my work.

I have a Nikon D40X - and I splurged and got a Nikkor 70-300 lens. I LOOOVE my camera. Worth every penny.

I will post something soon with the powdered graphite and water, I'm still experimenting but, I like what's happening with it.

That's almost the same camera I have, I have the D40. I love it too! I've been looking at that lens you have - it's next on my list of camera toys to buy, heehee. The longest lens I have is the Nikkor 55-200. It's a good lens, but it just doesn't get me as close as I would like on those distance shots.

Lovely equine image Jennie! The lighting is beautifully handled. Hey, I use a Nikon D80, and I splurged on the 70-300 lens too.. and I LOVE IT! Did you get the VR model?

Jennie Norris said...

Thanks so much Toni, Yes I did get the VR model -I did so much research when I got my lens because of the issue with that camera having the motor in the lens and not the camera body. I was a little afraid to not get the VR.

I'm hoping to someday find a used larger lens. After the 70-300 they get into the thousands of dollars. Big dreams : ) .....and a lot of pawn shop visits!

Still trying to get out to Tohono Chul to check out the CP show!!!!
